I love doing portraits of people and animals. They tend to have a life of their own.

I even have a favorite photographer, Dana Guether.

  • She is fun and friendly.
  • She pays attention to lighting.
  • She gets difficult children to behave.
  • She is my sister (probably the most important reason, right?)

I like do-it-yourself photos too. Pictures that have been taken by regular people.

  • They capture things a photographer might not.
  • They are full of surprises.
  • They are simple (your child standing in a pan, or your dog smelling flowers.)

Most of my drawings on my last post were do-it-yourself photos by different people.

All of my drawings on this post are photos by my favorite photographer.

Each of these photos had been taken in 2007. I added the date to them because I thought it might be fun to turn a more recent photo into a drawing to show how much these guys have all changed.

I have not started on the more recent photos yet but I will post them when they are finished.
